Hayden & Rachel Call Off Engagement

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen have officially ended their engagement.

Reports surfaced a couple months ago that the duo were on a break, but now the split is permanent. “Yes, the engagement is off,” Bilson’s rep tells PEOPLE, but declined to provide details on the breakup.

Distance was reportedly one of the main reasons for the split. With Bilson primarily in L.A., and Christensen in Canada, “It just wasn’t working out,” says a pal of the actress.

Now Bilson is “focusing on her career, spending time with her family and just moving forward,” adds the friend.

Christensen, 29, and Bilson, 28, met on the set of Jumper in 2007, and got engaged in December of the following year. (Source)

Rachel Bilson says fiance Hayden Christensen is like human dictionary

Rachel Bilson has said her fiance Hayden Christensen is like a human dictionary.

The 28-year-old actress is engaged to the Star Wars actor and said people will need a dictionary to read some of his interviews.

Bilson said to Cleo magazine: “Yeah, he’s very, very articulate. He has a wide vocabulary and he’s quite a clever guy.

“There are definitely things where I’ll be like: ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about right now.’ Or: ‘What does that word mean?!’ We definitely have that every so often.”

Asked if he is like a human dictionary, she said: “Exactly!”

Many Hollywood fashionistas may rely on stylists like Rachel Zoe to look flawlessly pulled-together for every event–but not Rachel Bilson!
“I really dress myself,” the actress told PEOPLE at Ann Taylor’s Fall 2010 fashion show on Thursday night in New York City. Demonstrating her style savvy, the petite beauty wore a giraffe-print sweater and a bejeweled black ribbon draped around her neck–both from Ann Taylor. “I’ve been known to put a necklace in my hair,” quipped Bilson. “That’s what getting dressed should be. It’s about fun and experimenting. I think you either enjoy it or you don’t–and I do.” The couture-loving star also loves a high-low style mix, especially using Ann Taylor’s new pieces: “The shoes and the purses are amazing. You can add them to a plain outfit to add a little pop,” said Bilson, switching into stylist mode. “That’s what’s great about [Ann Taylor]–you can incorporate it into your own wardrobe.” And with such a passion for fashion–not to mention a Hollywood budget–Bilson has amassed quite the closet. “I have a problem, in that I hold on to things that I’ve had since I was 13-years-old . . . Rachel Bilson stopped to give kisses to not one, but two adorable doggies at last night’s Ann Taylor Fall 2010 Collection event at the ACE Hotel in NYC. Dog lover Rachel is always doting on Thurman Murman, but it looks like she has a soft spot for all his fellow four-legged buddies. Rachel’s cute style always catches our eye, but we’re also looking forward to seeing her back on the big screen when her Waiting For Forever gets a release date.

A hip crowd gathered at West Hollywood hot spot BLT to watch all the action unfold at the 2010 Academy Awards during InStyle‘s annual Oscar viewing party. Rachel Bilson‘s favorite Oscar moment? “Ben Stiller was very funny,” said the actress. “I love when people don’t take themselves too seriously.” One thing Bilson did give some serious consideration to was her Oscar night fashion statement. “I usually go short, so I decided to wear this Zac Posen dress tonight,” said the stylish star, who layered on a vintage bolero jacket. “It’s so classy and figure flattering.”
